Sense of Sight Activities for 5 Senses Unit with Freebie!

Fun Sense of Sight Activities!

Today we completed our first day of homeschool Kindergarten! The day went so smoothly and we had a lot of fun using our new "classroom". We started our first learning theme for the year, the 5 senses! Each day we'll focus on one sense, but we did also do an introduction into the 5 senses this morning.

Check out the activities we did and make sure to grab the freebie at the end of the post for one of our experiments!

Mr. Potato Head Sort Activity
This was such a fun hands-on activity!
  • We read Look here! by Sally Hewitt. This book provides a lot of information, but it is presented in a fun and interactive way, so it held my daughter's attention!
Look here! by Sally Hewwitt

  • We listened to the Eyes and Sight song by Mr. R on YouTube.
  • We tried to put a pen cap on with two eyes open, with one eye, and then with both eyes closed! (activity from Look here! book)
  • We learned how to make a scientific prediction before conducting an experiment. I created a worksheet to go along with an activity from the Look here! book. We predicted what would happen to her pupils after closing her eyes and also after looking into the daylight sky. Grab a copy of this worksheet for free below!
